This week I spent some time going through CVs, and around the fifth CV we looked at really looked polished with a professional layout. Standing out isn’t bad when there are an (almost) overwhelming number of applicants. But then, some 10 CVs later, the same CV template with a different colour scheme, and by the third time we saw it, it was as common as all the others and did not stand out any more. Better pay attention to your spelling, or saying that you speak the languages we asked for in the job advert.
