How to find untagged items in Zotero

In Zotero, we can use a (saved) search and the wildcard % to find all entries that have not been tagged.

Right-click on the library, and choose “New Saved Search”

Add the wildcard (%), and pick the options at the bottom that you want. As a saved search, this will automatically update itself as you add items or tag them.

If you have automatic tags that bother you, you can delete them in the tag selector (they will be removed permanently): click on that little arrow to the right of the search field (I don’t have any here, so the option is greyed out).
