SFB 1604 ‘Production of Migration’: Inauguration and international conference, 23-25 October 2024

international conference Production of Migration: Figures, Infrastructures and Spaces, which will take place from 23-25 October at Osnabrück University.

The conference inaugurates the new Collaborative Research Centre Production of Migration (SFB 1604). In different panels, we will discuss the Research Centre’s agenda and conceptual approach. The conference will be the starting point for various collaborations within the research community and with the wider public.  

The SFB Production of Migration is an interdisciplinary consortium that sets out to collectively develop a reflexive theory of the social production of migration over the next twelve years. Launched in April 2024, around 50 researchers from the fields of geography, history, psychology, linguistics, law and social sciences are investigating various forms, facets and consequences of the social negotiation of migration. Vacancies for 21 Doctoral and Postdoctoral Researchers in the Collaborative Research Center „Production of Migration“ (SFB 1604)

The German Research Foundation (DFG) has recently approved the new Collaborative Research Center (CRC) ›Production of Migration‹ at Osnabrück University. In its first phase (2024-2027), the CRC will work on conceptual questions of reflexive migration studies as much in theory as in methodology and empirical research practice. For joint fundamental research, the CRC is recruiting colleagues from various disciplines and from all over the world!
